Just for Fun
I took a walk the other day and went hunting for random compositions with my phone. It was interesting to really look around me and see all the lines and relationships out there. No real meat to this one, just a "look what I did" kinda thing. Sorry things have been a bit light here lately, I'll get back into the swing of things soon.
Two more photos:
That's all for now.

Actually a weekly "Just For Fun" post could be great. I really like these shots! Great textures and lines.
ReplyDelete@ Kristan - not a bad idea, actually. I might make this a more regular thing. Thanks ;)
ReplyDeleteI second Kristan's sentiment...a weekly 'just for fun' would be...well...fun.
ReplyDeleteBut what you're doing "just for fun" is actually an interesting exercise in composition. As you know, I don't firmly believe that the rules of composition are an end-all-be-all strategy for creating photos. Your exercise and its relaxed approach (right down to using a - for all intents and purposes - a point-and-shoot camera [your phone]) really gets you shooting what is aesthetically pleasing. Though you may think otherwise, it's less about following the rules of composition and more about shooting for the sake of shooting. You're exploring what looks good without figuring out the why (at least at the time of clicking the button).
An idea for a future "just for fun" activity: throw a bunch of stuff on a table and quickly shoot 20 photos within a minute (you've eliminated all ability to think). Than select the worst three and the best three and try to figure out why.
